Meet Shelly Thrall,
VSA-CDT, FDM, SDC

Owner and trainer at Blue Dog Canine Coaching, LLC

I’m a Victoria Stilwell Academy Certified Dog Trainer (VSA-CDT) Certified Service Dog Coach (SDC) and Family Dog Mediator (FDM) committed to the use of science-based, humane training methods. Whether we are teaching basic life skills or implementing complex behavior modification plans, positive reinforcement techniques are proven to be safe, effective, and fun.

What is Positive Training?

Positive Reinforcement training involves rewarding your dog for the things they do right. The reward could be a toy, a game, or a treat. Whatever your dog wants to work for.

As a positive trainer, I focus on strengthening the bond between you and your dog, helping you manage the environment properly so that your dog cannot practice undesirable behaviors and teach desirable behaviors you want to see.

Positive reinforcement is all about earning the good stuff. Without fear of doing the wrong thing, your dog can become an active participant in the training process. They will start trying new things, get plenty of mental exercise, and actively look for ways to earn rewards.
